Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The County of Yolo has a desire to improve the physical security of its employees, facilities, and assets. On October 26, 2021 the Yolo County Board of Supervisors adopted a Safety and Security Funds Policy, which allows the General Services Department to manage, review and approve, in collaboration with the County Administrator's Office and Risk Management, a department's request for the use of these funds. The Board designated $100,000 in the County's Adopted Budget for this fiscal year to support the Safety and Security Fund.  This Board action takes the already allocated funds in the adopted budget process and transfers them to the General Services Department to manage.

The General Services Department will return to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors in June 2024 to inform the Board of the projects requested by the departments and how the allocated funds were expended.
