Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
At the July 24, 2018 Board meeting, the Board adopted a resolution declaring "Yolo County, a Safe and Welcoming Place for All: Protecting Children and Keeping Families Together". Among other policy directives, the resolution pledged the County to "Commit to legislative action to advocate for sensible immigration policies that uphold the U.S. Constitution". To that end, Supervisors Provenza and Saylor are recommending the Board amend the 2018 Legislative Advocacy policy to reflect the Board's commitment to ensuring Yolo County is a safe and welcoming place for all and supporting sensible immigration policy that does not harm immigrant children and families (Att. B and C, redline and clean versions, respectively). |
