Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On May 9, 2017, the County Board of Supervisors authorized the Assistant County Administrator or her designee to execute a work authorization under Agreement No. 14-206 with Architectural Nexus to design the Esparto Community Park and Aquatic Center project in an amount not to exceed $281,600. Work Authorization #1 was approved under Agreement No. 14-206 in the amount of $56,100.
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was conducted in January 2017 by General Services for On-Call Consultants which created a new agreement (Agreement No. 17-68). The County Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 17-68 on May 9, 2017. The term of the agreement is July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020. Work Authorization #2 was approved under this new agreement in the amount of $225,500. The total of the two approved work authorizations is $281,600, the maximum authorized by the County Board of Supervisors.
Architectural Nexus' work on project planning and design is more than anticipated due to changes in project scope. Scope of service changes and needs included additional efforts for architectural and civil engineering services as well as additional scope needs.

The total for Work Authorization #3 is $86,655. Authority for an additional $5,500 is requested to serve as a contingency for any future project design needs. A new work authorization would be approved by staff for use of any of this funding. All costs will be covered by the existing project budget contingency.
