Reason for Recommended Action/Background
In 2014 the County issued a Request for Proposals for construction management services with Vanir Construction selected as the best qualified firm.   On 03/24/15, the Board approved a construction management agreement with Vanir Construction for services relating to the Juvenile Hall Multi-Purpose Facility Project.  Construction management services for this project were fully funded by the SB81 grant.

The Vanir construction management contract requires a time extension to October 31, 2017 to cover warranty items, punch list, final payment submittals and review.  This is a no increased cost for this extension of time.  The cost for this work is already included in the original agreement.

In 2010, Yolo County received an award from the Board of State and Community Corrections to build an annex to the Juvenile Detention Facility that would provide needed space to conduct treatment, evidence based programs and contact visiting.  In December 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved the State funding for the grant Construction of $4,784,536 provided by the State.  In April 2016 the Board approved  the total project budget of $7,724,828 and the construction agreement with Broward Builders to proceed with construction.

The project has been successfully completed on schedule and under budget.

Occupancy is scheduled for September 22, 2017 and the dedication ceremony will be held on September 26, 2017.
