| Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
Staff is recommending Board approval for select department closures during holiday periods when service demands are reduced. Employees who choose to be off work during the office closure use available leave balances to cover their time off.
The Yolo County Library is requesting a closure of all library branches on November 24, 2017 and December 24, 2017, which are in addition to the regular County holidays (November 23 and December 25).
All branches of the Health and Human Services Agency are requesting to be closed on December 22, 2017 and December 29, 2017. There will be a 24-hour response on these dates for child and adult protective services, eligibility program applications, and temporary assistance to the homeless.
The following departments are requesting an office closure for the period of December 26 through December 29, which is in addition to the regular County holidays (December 25 and January 1):
Agriculture
Assessor's office only
Community Services (except the Landfill)
County Administrator (including Clerk of the Board and Human Resources)
County Counsel
