Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On December 2, 2014, the Board of Supervisors gave approval to the District Attorney to enter in to a lease agreement with Neal D. Peart for the property located at 414 4th Street. The property houses the District Attorney's Consumer Fraud and Environmental Protection Division and the District Attorney's three other Fraud Units. Due to increased case load and personnel it has become necessary to increase the square footage at the location in order to accommodate evidence and case documentation of the fraud units. The Addendum of the Lease would include Suite B-4 which would increase the leased space by 176 sq. ft. at a cost of $235.00 a month. |

There is no general fund impact. The funding source for the lease of this additional space is from the District Attorney's Consumer Fraud Environmental Protection Division (CFEPD) trust fund. The addendum will cover the additional space of 176 sq. ft. for $235.00 a month. This addendum would become effective October 1, 2017 at which time there will remain four months on the original lease. The total additional amount necessary for the remainder of the lease is $940.00. The original lease includes 2500 sq. ft. at $3,511 a month.
Total monthly payment for 414 4th Street will be $3,746 a month for the four months remaining on the lease. It is anticipated that the entire lease will be renewed to begin on February 1, 2018. The costs have been incorporated in to the FY 17/18 Adjusted Budget. |
