Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On September 12, 2016 Governor Brown signed a new tribal compact with the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. This 25-year compact furthers Yocha Dehe's legacy of leadership and commitment to the Capay Valley and surrounding communities in addition to providing a framework for Yocha Dehe to continue its partnership with local communities within the Tribe’s aboriginal lands and develop and implement an array of projects and programs which can provide mutual benefits to the Tribe, the community, and the local government. As such, staff is recommending the Board send the attached letter to the Yocha Dehe Tribal Council Chariman Leland Kinter, congratulating him and the Tribal Council on the Governor's signing of the compact. |
