Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
Recently there have efforts among Sacramento Council of Government (SACOG) member agencies to transition from a data-driven and application based-approach of allocating transportation funding to a formulaic approach. While the unincorporated areas of the County could see additional transportation funding under a formulaic model, in all likelihood the incorporated cities would fare negatively. The attached resolution (Att. A) affirms the County's support for the current data-driven and application-based approach while stressing the importance of continued collaboration with SACOG to address rural infrastructure needs. Other regional groups such as the Sacramento Metro Chamber and the Greater Sacramento Economic Council similarly support a data-driven and application-based approach (Atts. B and C, respectively). |
