Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On April 26, 2017, the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency received three responses to a Request for Proposal for a qualified community based organization to provide programs that offer comprehensive youth services to registered youth ages 14-24 who reside in Yolo County. Services provided are intended to further the participants education and preparation for employment.
The purpose of the agreement is to provide comprehensive employment and/or training services tied to the Workforce Innovation Board approved local and/or regional industries. Activities under this grant typically include case management, paid work experience, tutoring and/or study skills training, leadership development opportunities, mentoring, financial literacy and activities that help youth transition to post secondary education and training.
There are two contracts available through this Request for Proposals with services based on region. Region 1 consists of the communities of Brooks, Capay, Dunnigan, Esparto, Guinda, Knights Landing, Madison, Rumsey, Winters, Woodland, Yolo and Zamora. Region 2 consists of Clarksburg, Davis, and West Sacramento. Two proposals were submitted for Region 1 and one proposal for Region 2. On June 27, the Board approved a contract for services with Rural Innovations in Social Economics, Inc. for Region 1. Staff recommends approval of this contract with Yolo County Children's Alliance for Region 2. The Yolo County Workforce Innovation Board approved the award of funds to the Yolo County Children's Alliance. The Health and Human Services Agency will provide program and technical support for the length of contract.
