Recommended Action

Approve responses to 2017-18 Yolo County Grand Jury reports:
1. Inmate Visitation Policy at the Yolo County Monroe Detention Center
2. Juvenile Detention Facility Investigation
3. The Yolo County Elections Office Indiscretions & Culpability
4. Improving the Yolo County Libraries and Archives
5. Reporting & Analysis of Child Welfare Statistics by the Child, Youth & Family Branch of the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency
Authorize the County Administrator to transmit responses to Judge Reed of the Superior Court.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

According to Penal Code §933 and 933.05, the respondents named in a Grand Jury report are required to respond in writing. The attached documents represent the responses from the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, County Administrator, Chief Probation Officer, Chief Financial Officer, County Librarian and Child, Health & Human Services Agency Youth & Family Branch Director. Note: The Yolo County Sheriff, District Attorney and Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Elections responded under separate cover. Upon approval and receipt, the responses will be forwarded to Judge Reed as provided by law.
