Reason for Recommended Action/Background

The attached Governance Manual is a result of ongoing discussion sessions the Board of Supervisors has held since 2013. The Board of Supervisors felt it was important to identify and codify the principles, norms, practices and protocols that lay the foundation for, and support an effective governance team. This manual reflects the Board’s culture and incorporates traits associated with highly effective governing boards. The Board continues to regularly review and revise this document so that it remains current and supports a climate of excellence for the Board of Supervisors for years to come. The attached manual highlights the most recent revisions.
