Recommended Action |
- Approve renewal agreement with the California Department of Public Health to receive funding in the amount of $2,442,310 for the public health emergency preparedness program from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2022; and
- Delegate authority to the Director of the Health and Human Services Agency and/or her/his designee to sign and execute any additional forms, documents and/or amendments as necessary relating to this Agreement.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
This agreement is made under the authority of California Health and Safety Code, Sections 101315 to 101319. The State of California, Department of Public Health (CDPH) receives federal funds from the National Hospital Preparedness Program and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement Programs. The legislature has appropriated the federal funds to CDPH in the annual Budget Act for allocation by CDPH to the local health jurisdiction and/or local entity.
Approval of this agreement will allow the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) to receive the additional funding and continue to support the development, training and enhancement of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning efforts, as required by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Local Grant Application Guidance.

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors appointed the Emergency Medical Care Committee as the advisory council for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Bioterrorism Response Grant. Participating partners include members from the Office of Emergency Services, local and regional hospitals, and community health agencies, law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical responders, the Red Cross, the University of California Davis and other county departments. |
