Recommended Action

Adopt resolution designating YoloArts as the State-Local Partner with the California Arts Council and the central arts agency for the County of Yolo for the fiscal year 2019-20.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

The California Arts Council, a state agency, administers grant programs in alignment with their mission to advance California through the arts and creativity. YoloArts, as the county-designated local arts agency, is eligible each year to apply to the State-Local Partnership (SLP) program for general operating support and technical assistance. Currently, the maximum request amount is $45,000, which supports executive leadership for YoloArts.

The grant cycle is one fiscal year. Each year a grant application is submitted, reviewed and approved by the California Arts Council. To be eligible for funding YoloArts must submit a current resolution approved by the county Board of Supervisors. The dates included in the resolution must coincide with the grant activity period.
