Reason for Recommended Action/Background
On June 26, 2018 the Yolo County Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 18-148 which provided YoloArts a license to occupy and operate the Gibson House property, located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland, as a cultural center. On November 20, 2018 the Board approved an amendment to this agreement to grant YoloArts a five year license to occupy an adjacent property, located at 508 Gibson Road, as administration space for operation of the Gibson House. The purpose of this second amendment to the agreement (Att. A.) is to reflect the County’s previously approved contribution of $200,000 towards capital improvements at the property, which was not originally noted in the agreement, in order to assist in financial processing of the construction costs.

In the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget, the Board of Supervisors allocated $200,000 from the accumulated capital outlay fund towards construction improvements. These improvements were to assist in increasing ADA accessibility as well as to aid in the operational transition. YoloArts also pledged to contribute funds towards tenant improvements at the property. Since August 2018 construction efforts have been underway at the Gibson House property in accordance with this plan. This second amendment simply specifies the County’s $200,000 contribution.
