Adopt Authorized Position and Salary Resolution to implement changes in the County Administrator, Child Support Services, District Attorney, Health and Human Services Agency and Public Defender departments; and add educational incentive for Chief DA Investigator and Assistant Chief DA Investigator. (No general fund impact) (Rowland)
Recommended Action
  1. Adopt Authorized Position and Salary Resolution to implement changes in the County Administrator, Child Support Services, District Attorney, Health and Human Services Agency and Public Defender departments; and
     
  2. Authorize education incentive pay for the unrepresented classes of Chief DA Investigator and Assistant Chief DA Investigator in the amounts of:
  • 2.5% for possession of a Bachelor's Degree or POST Advanced Certificate
  • 2.5% for possession of POST Supervisory Certificate
  • 2.5% for possession of POST Management Certificate

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
See Attachment A for changes to the Authorized Position and Salary Resolution.

The addition of education incentive for the Chief DA Investigator and Assistant Chief DA Investigator will assist in providing consistency in specialty pay between these unrepresented class titles and their subordinate staff.  One incumbent is impacted by this recommendation, the Chief DA Investigator.  The Assistant Chief DA Investigator authorized position is currently vacant.
