Approve agreement with the California Department of Public Health in the amount of $46,827 for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) surveillance activities July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019. (No general fund impact) (Larsen)
Recommended Action
  1. Approve agreement with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in the amount of $46,827 for Human Immunodeficiency Virus surveillance activities for July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019; and
     
  2. Authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director to execute all documents necessary to receive these funds and execute the terms of the agreement and any amendments.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Approving this agreement will provide funds to continue to support the HIV/AIDS surveillance program. The goal under this agreement is to administer the HIV Surveillance Program which provides support for secure, timely and complete HIV case surveillance in health, medical, public health and social services settings, including laboratories.

This revenue was included in the approved 2016-17 recommended budget.  This is a three year grant agreement providing State grant funds of $15,609 per fiscal year effective 2016-2017.  The out-year budgets have yet to be developed, but will include these funds when developed in the future.
