Recommended Action |
Approve and authorize the Chair to sign Cooperative Agreement Number 03A2520 with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for controlling noxious weeds and vertebrate pests on state highways for a total contract amount of $150,000 effective July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019. |

Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The continuation of this service agreement allows the Yolo County Department of Agriculture to recover costs for controlling noxious weeds and vertebrate pests along state highways.
Weed and vertebrate pests coming from state highway rights of way cause adverse impacts to neighboring agricultural operations. The Agriculture Department has provided weed and vertebrate control in an effort to prevent grower complaints, reduce crop losses, and control the spread of noxious weeds. |
