Explanation: In the current year, additional costs will be absorbed through vacancy savings. In future years additional federal and state funding will be draws to offset the cost increases.

Explanation: This position is funded by the Federal ORR grant and existing Public Safety Sales Tax. In the new contract with ORR, ORR’s share of funding increased for four Detention Officer positions from 50% to 100%, which freed up existing Public Safety Sales Tax revenues. This existing revenue stream is being repurposed to fund the non-ORR share of this position in the current and future years.
