| Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The County of Yolo flag was originally designed and created by Sue Handley while she was secretary to the Yolo County Agriculture Commissioner, Charles Hardy, from 1938 to 1941. During that time Mr. Hardy received a request that Yolo County display a flag at the California State Fair, so the flag created by Sue Handley was displayed at that time. A replica of the Yolo County flag was presented to the Board of Supervisors on September 13, 2016, and this flag hangs outside the Board of Supervisors' Chambers. This action adopts that flag as the "official" County of Yolo flag.

| The original flag was donated by Herb Chandler to the Yolo County Archives. Staff from the Archives worked with the CAO's office to have this flag replicated and framed for display. |
