Reason for Recommended Action/Background

The attached Governance Manual is a result of an ongoing series of workshops the Board has conducted over the last two years. The Board of Supervisors felt it was important to identify and codify the principles, norms, practices and protocols that lay the foundation for, and support an effective governance team. This manual reflects the Board’s culture and incorporates traits associated with highly effective governing boards. The Board expects to regularly review and revise this document so that it remains current and supports a climate of excellence for the Board of Supervisors for years to come.
