Staff is recommending Board approval for select department closures during holiday periods when service demands are reduced. Employees who choose to be off work during the office closure must use available leave balances to cover their time off.
The following departments are requesting office closures:
Agriculture - December 23, 2019 through January 1, 2020
Assessor - December 24, 2019 through January 1, 2020
Clerk-Recorder - closed on scheduled holidays and at noon on December 24, 2019
Elections - closed on scheduled holidays only
Community Services (except the Landfill) - December 25, 2019 through January 1, 2020
County Administrator (including Clerk of the Board) - December 25, 2019 through January 1, 2020
County Counsel - December 25, 2019 through January 1, 2020. Coverage of any court hearings will be arranged and pressing matters addressed.
Financial Services - December 25, 2019 through January 1, 2020
Health and Human Services Agency - All branches are requesting to be closed on December 24, 2019 and December 31, 2019, which are in addition to the regular County holidays (December 25, 2019 and January 1, 2020). There will be a 24-hour response on these dates for child and adult protective services, eligibility program applications, and temporary assistance to the homeless.
Human Resources - December 24, 2019 through January 1, 2020
Library - All library branches to be closed on Friday, November 29, 2019, the day after Thanksgiving. All branches will be closed on December 25, 2019 and January 1, 2020. All branches will close at 6 p.m. on December 24, 2019 (South Davis Montgomery library closed). All branches will close at 6 p.m. on December 31, 2019 (South Davis Montgomery library closed).
Probation - No closures except for the regular holidays. |
