Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
In an ongoing effort by Yolo County Telecommunications to expand the County’s communication infrastructure, an Invitation for Bid (AUDIFBKK1708) was advertised on BidSync inviting qualified vendors to submit proposals to install communications conduit on County Road 103, County Road 27 and County Road 104. The completion of this project will provide a complete pathway so faster, more reliable communications can be installed to the landfill, and eventually to County buildings in the City of Davis. It will also help create a communications "ring" between Woodland and Davis for redundancy of our critical systems. The new conduit could also be used by service providers for broadband Internet service to unserved/underserved areas of Yolo County as well as our cities to help improve communications and information sharing. |
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies) |
General Services worked with staff from the Department of Financial Services and the County Counsel's office. General Services has also been in contact with the City of Davis for possible sharing of this infrastructure for city needs. |
