Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The Yolo County District Attorney has been receiving the County Victim Service Program grant from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services since fiscal year 2016-17.
This grant allowed for the creation of using one location, Empower Yolo, to provide victim services. Instead of crime victims needing to go to multiple places to receive the necessary assistance, they can go to Empower Yolo to receive counseling, legal aid, financial assistance, etc.
These funds are used to provide direct services, client navigation, and coordination of services, that otherwise could not be provided, to survivors in Yolo County. |
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies) |
The Yolo County District Attorney in collaboration with Empower Yolo continues to apply for these grant funds.
Through this grant, the Yolo County's Victim Services Steering Committee was created. Members of this committee include the Yolo County District Attorney's Office, Empower Yolo, Yolo County Health and Human Services, Yolo County Superior Court, West Sacramento PD, Yolo County Probation Department, and Yolo County Sheriff's Office. Community-Based Organizations in Yolo County also collaborate. County Counsel has reviewed and signed the board resolution. |
