Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Section § 5150(a), the County holds the authority to designate the facilities and professional persons permitted to conduct 5150 psychiatric custodial hold assessments.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) defines the agreement and relationship between the County and Dignity Community Care, dba Woodland Memorial Hospital ("the Hospital") regarding the provision of 5150 psychiatric custodial hold assessments for Hospital patients who are Yolo County Medi-Cal beneficiaries or indigent individuals. On an as-needed basis and based upon request from the hospital, the County, via 5150 authorized clinical staff or authorized clinical contractors(s), shall conduct 5150 psychiatric custodial hold assessments for Hospital patients who are Yolo County Medi-Cal beneficiaries or indigent individuals. 

Staff hereby recommends approval of this MOU to allow the County to memorialize the partnership between the County and the Hospital in order for the County to conduct 5150 psychiatric custodial hold assessments in the Hospital facility.
