Recommended Action
  1. Adopt resolution granting the District Attorney and/or Chief Deputy District Attorney authority to accept, on behalf of Yolo County, $470,735 from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services; and
     
  2. Authorize the District Attorney and/or Chief Deputy District Attorney to execute the grant award agreement including any and all amendments or extensions.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County District Attorney is in their 38th year of receiving the Victim/Witness Assistance Program grant. We apply for this grant each year.  This grant is non-competitive and we are guaranteed funding each grant cycle.

The Yolo County Victim Service Unit is designated as the only agency in the county to provide comprehensive services to victims of all crimes.  Services provided include services outlined in Penal Code section 13835, Marsy's Law, crisis intervention, emergency assistance, attending court dates with victims, etc. This unit also has a dedicated Senior Victim Services Program Assistance to be the point of contact in any incident involving mass victimization.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
The Yolo County District Attorney's Victim Services unit works closely with all local law enforcement agencies, Yolo County Office of Emergency Services, and community-based organizations to provide comprehensive services to victims of all crimes. County Counsel has reviewed the board resolution and approved to form.
