Recommended Action
Approve second amendment to Agreement No. PO 3519 with Jagdish Patel dba Crest Motel to add funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21 in the amount of $3,042.94 for reimbursement of damages to leased room #127 for a new contract maximum of $278,542.94.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
On or about February 13, 2020, Yolo County entered into a Master Lease Agreement with Crest Motel (Master Lease Agreement) to provide housing to homeless CalWORKs families while transitioning into permanent housing. This lease agreement secures five rooms to provide this mandated service to homeless CalWORKs families. The Crest Motel is unique in that it provides housing for two to eight individuals including a 3-bedroom unit that can accommodate very large families at a competitive rate.

Approval of this amendment to the Master Lease Agreement will ensure the County is able to pay for damages caused by a CalWORKs placed family.

A sole source letter was approved for these services by the Yolo County Procurement Manager.

No general funds are required by this action.  These services will be funded by the CalWORKs Housing Support Program.  The action increases the contract maximum by $3,042.94 for a total of $278,542.94 for the period of February 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022. The amount of $3,042.94 is included in the HHSA adopted budget for FY2020-21. The related funding will be included in the requested budget process for future fiscal years.
