Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The UC Davis Extension has developed a human and social services training program that meets training requirements mandated by the California Department of Social Services in the areas of fraud, income eligibility verification, overpayments and child welfare core knowledge. UC Davis Extension is the only training provider in our area that meets this need. This recommended contract will provide 33.9 units (or 203.4 hours) of training for social services staff and ensure the Agency meets its mandated training requirements.

Competitive Bid Process |
Sole Source Justification: UC Davis Extension – Center for Human Services will provide 33.9 units of training for Health and Human Services Agency Service Center as mandated by the California Department of Social Services. UC Davis Extension is the only training provider in our area that meets this need. The UC Davis Center for Human Services is the exclusive third-party provider of training for counties that meets the state mandated training requirements. |

The total cost of this training is $67,575, however, the University provides $6,757.50 of in-kind contributions bringing the Counties share of cost to $60,817.50. Sufficient funds were included in the adopted budget for FY18-19.
