Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
As part of the 2020-2024 Yolo County Strategic Plan development outreach efforts engaged many various entities, including County departments, through a variety of methods to gather and utilize their input. County departments provided a list of their goals and anticipated challenges for the next three to five years. This information provided insight into the various activities that departments were undertaking, but it also highlighted some internal organizational goals that were common among many departments. One area of of ambiguity was the use of innovation funds, and when and how funds could be accessed.
The development of the Innovation Fund Use Policy will provide departments with a comprehensive road map of how to access and what innovative projects are appropriate for the use of the Innovation Fund. The approval and adoption of such a policy will provide departments with a clearer understanding of the management, oversight and use of said fund. |
