| Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
| Approval of this agreement will allow the Yolo County CalWORKs program to collaborate with the Yolo County Housing Authority (YCHA) to provide housing support to up to twelve (12) CalWORKs families experiencing homelessness. Under this agreement YCHA will execute a master lease agreement with Portale Properties, LLC for 12 units in the Merkely Apartment complex to be available for CalWORKs homeless families as referred by the Yolo County CalWORKs program. YCHA will ensure renovations are completed on the units to meet livable standards pursuant to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). YCHA will also provide full scope property management services, ongoing site maintenance, and tenant relations. The Yolo County CalWORKs program will provide case management services for CalWORKs homeless families that reside in the Merkley apartment complex and provide financial support services, which are paid to YCHA on behalf of the tenants including $1,100 monthly for rent per unit, $450 monthly for property management per unit, and utility expenses (with tenant share to be determined on a case by case basis). |

No general funds are required by this action. The total amount of this action is $735,042.60 for the period of October 15, 2019 through June 30, 2020, with an amount of $274,242.60 for fiscal year 2019-20. These services will be funded by CalWORKs funding. The amount of $274,242.60 is included in the HHSA adopted budget for fiscal year 2019-20. The related funding will be included in the requested budget process for future fiscal years.
