Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
At the October 1, 2019 Board Strategic Planning Session, the Board provided input to County staff regarding draft outcomes, strategies, and metrics for the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan. These drafts were developed over the past year through a robust community engagement process as well as multiple workshops with the Board. Since the October session, staff have worked with County subject matter experts to incorporate the Board input. The now revised draft outcomes, metrics and strategies are provided in Attachment A, for additional Board comment and consideration, with any alterations or additions highlighted in yellow.
Additionally, it is the intention of staff that the Strategic Plan have annual priorities. This will aid in ensuring the continued relevance and flexibility of the document to changing circumstances over the course of the next five calendar years. The strategies will serve as the annual priorities, while the goals and outcomes are anticipated to remain the same. A timeline associated with the draft Strategic Plan is provided in Attachment B and displays the estimated priorities for each year of the plan. The priorities will ultimately be evaluated by the Board of Supervisors annually at the October Board Strategic Planning Session. In anticipation of the first year of the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan, the list of priority strategies for the 2020 calendar year are provided in Attachment C. |
