Reason for Recommended Action/Background
On July 1, 2015, the Superior Court of California vacated the Historic Yolo County Courthouse, located at 725 Court Street in Woodland, in order to occupy their new facility. Earlier in 2015, the Jacobs Strategic Space Utilization Study, which was adopted and approved by the Board of Supervisors, identified the Historic Courthouse as the primary headquarters for the Probation Department's Administrative staff. In September 2018, a request for proposal was advertised for the general construction phase of this project. Three responses were received in late October, with Arntz Builders successfully earning the contract.
As mentioned above, the renovation of the Historic Courthouse was identified as a possible solution to specific space and infrastructure needs for Yolo County in the Jacobs strategic space utilization study. The project was approved by the Board of Supervisors on May 31, 2016.

On September 10, 2019, a request for additional funding for Historic Courthouse Renovation Project was approved by the Board of Supervisors increasing the total project cost to $13,694,109. On this date, the accompanying budget resolution was inadvertently not included, and this action requested by the Board of Supervisors is solely administrative in nature. No additional funds are being requested for this project.
