Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The proposed amendments to the ordinance (Attachments A and B) were reviewed and discussed by the Board of Supervisors at their September 10, 2019 meeting (Item #46).
In summary, the proposed amendments increase the amount of time that a boat or vessel must vacate County waterways upon receiving a Notice to Remove from the Yolo County Sheriff's Office. The period of vacation will increase from 24 consecutive hours to 48 consecutive hours.
The proposed amendments also clarify that boats or vessels abandoned on public roads or public property (land) can be abated through the County's same abandonment action and disposition for abandoned vessels on water. As currently written, the existing ordinance refers only to boats or vessels abandoned in waterways. |
