Recommended Action |
Approve an additional salary and benefit change for unrepresented employees. Effective September 29, 2019, unrepresented employees shall pay one-half (0.5) percent of the County’s portion of the CalPERS retirement contribution in exchange for a 0.42 (42/100) percent salary increase. |

Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
Staff is recommending approval of an additional salary and benefit change (amended from the Board approved action from meeting date July 23, 2019) which recommends that provisions negotiated with represented employees of the Supervisory and Professional bargaining unit be extended to unrepresented employees, excluding attorneys (unrepresented attorneys have historically followed represented attorneys) to ensure parity. Employees shall pay one-half (0.5) percent of the County’s portion of the CalPERS retirement contribution. In exchange for this one-half (0.5) percent CalPERS contribution, employees shall receive a 0.42 (42/100) percent salary increase. |
