Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Office of Emergency Services Division of the County Administrators Office will provide an update to the Board on current efforts to create an Evacuation Plan for the Operational Area which includes all cities in addition to the unincorporated area.  The Evacuation Plan will include the creation of zone-based maps, resident training and outreach.  In addition, Pacific Gas and Electric will present information on their Community Wildfire Safety Program.  The Evacuation Plan will include strategies for evacuating residents with access and functional needs; this includes identifying which residents need assistance and what that assistance may be, which transportation services may be required to move those residents, and which care facilities would be able to receive those residents.

As part of this planning effort, a series of outreach meetings will be held throughout the Operational Area to introduce residents to the concept of zone-based evacuation, and how they can best identify their zone and prepare for an evacuation.  Different tools are being created, including a web-based and mobile app that can be used to identify which zone a resident lives in. The evacuation planning effort will include all residents in the Yolo Operational Area.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
Yolo OES will be coordinating closely with each of its jurisdictional partners in the Operational Area, as well as the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection; Pacific Gas and Electric; and the Yolo County Resource Conservation District.
