Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The attached ordinance was introduced for consideration on January 29, 2019. It authorizes the nomination and appointment of alternates for the five seats on the Board of Commissioners that are described as "jurisdictional seats" in Section 2-2.3702 of the Yolo County Code. Those seats are reserved for nominees offered by the cities of Davis, Winters, Woodland, and West Sacramento for appointment by the Board of Supervisors, along with a fifth seat reserved for an unincorporated area nominee. All such seats are currently held by elected members of the city councils and (in the case of the County) Board of Supervisors.
If approved, the ordinance will provide flexibility for the jurisdictional appointees to the Board of Commissioners. The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to waive the first reading and continue the ordinance to the next regularly-scheduled meeting for adoption. This Office recommends adoption of the ordinance. |
