Recommended Action
  1. Adopt Authorized Position and Salary Resolution to implement changes in the District Attorney, Health & Human Services Agency and Sheriff's departments; and
     
  2. Adopt resolution providing for At-Will appointments to County positions to remove Director, HHS Service Centers and District Attorney Program Coordinator.

Explanation: The current year fiscal impact of this position reallocation can be absorbed by existing vacancy savings in the Neighborhood Court Program. The future increases in the cost of this position will be borne by the General Fund.

Explanation: This position is currently vacant, so any increased cost in the current fiscal year will be absorbed through salary savings.

Explanation: This position is current vacant, so any increased cost in the current fiscal year will be absorbed through salary savings.

Position(s):  Registered Veterinary Technician
Current Year Fiscal Impact: $12,810 total increase for three positions
Annual Fiscal Impact: $38,430 total increase for three positions
Source of Funds: General fund and charges for services through city agreements
Explanation: The current year impact will be absorbed within the department’s existing budget.  When the city service agreements are renewed, the cost of the positions will be included in the cost of the department’s operations.

Position(s):  Lieutenant
Current Year Fiscal Impact: $10,990 increase
Annual Fiscal Impact:  $32,960 increase
Source of Funds: Public safety funds/general fund
Explanation: If a candidate is found through the internal promotional process, the current year impact will be absorbed within the department’s existing budget.

Board approval of the attached Resolution Providing for At Will Appointments to County Positions is required when changes are made to the list of class titles that are exempt from the requirement that all appointments to regular County positions be made from an eligible list, and who serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
