Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
During 2007 the Davis voters approved Measure P, which increased the amount of their parcel tax annually, as well as the assessment method. The proceeds of this parcel tax are to be used to pay for the cost of additional bonds issued for the purpose of expanding and renovating the Stephens-Davis Branch Library, as well as providing additional funds for library services. The attached resolution approves the Parcel Tax Rate for 2019-20 at the rates as specified in Measure P. |

The recommended action increases the tax rate by 2% over the prior year amount. The resolution sets the following tax rates for FY 2019-20 at: $109.41 for single family residential parcels, and $54.69 per residential unit for multi-family residential parcels, which is projected to generate $2.267 million in restricted library fund revenue in FY 2019-20. These revenues will be included in the Library's FY 2019-20 budget. |
