Recommended Action

Approve Memorandum of Understanding with Sutter Valley Hospitals, dba Sutter Davis Hospital, to provide timely intervention to Yolo County Medi-Cal beneficiaries and uninsured patients of the Hospital who are experiencing acute psychiatric or other serious life or emotional crisis for zero dollars for the period of three years upon execution of this Agreement.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) defines the agreement and relationship between the County and Sutter Davis Hospital regarding 5150 custodial hold assessments (“5150 assessment(s)”) of patients at Hospital pursuant to the Lanterman–Petris Short Act, California Welfare and Institutions Code (“CA W&I Code”) sections 5000 et seq. The County holds the authority pursuant to CA W&I Code § 5150(a) to designate the facilities and professional persons that may conduct 5150 assessments.

The County shall perform 5150 assessments upon request by Sutter Davis Hospital on an as-needed basis. 5150 Authorized Clinician(s) from the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency or authorized Contracted Clinician(s) will acknowledge and accept the Hospital's request for a 5150 assessment to Yolo County Medi-Cal beneficiaries and uninsured persons who may require inpatient psychiatric hospitalization that are patients of the Hospital.
