Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The District Attorney's Consumer Fraud Environmental Protection Unit has outgrown the space it currently occupies at 414 4th Street.  They currently occupy Suites B-1 and B-4. There is currently not enough room for their allocated staff, volunteers and interns as well as their equipment and other items.  Earlier expansion included Suite B-4 a small storage area.  The expansion of Suite B-1 in to the adjacent Suite B-3 allows for all staff to be housed comfortably and efficiently as a unit.  Anticipating the need for expansion the funding for this expansion was included in the District Attorney's 2017-18 budget. There is no general fund impact.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
County Counsel has approved the lease and addendums.
