Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On March 6, 2017 the Yolo County Cannabis Steering Committee recommended comprehensive cannabis testing to ensure the safety of Yolo County produced agricultural product that is used medicinally. Staff found only two laboratories that, under current restrictions on handling cannabis, were able to provide the necessary test results: a lab located in southern California, and Steep Hill Labs in Berkeley. Steep Hill Labs, Inc. is capable of mass spectrometry testing, and can provide potency, microbiological, mycotoxin, heavy metal and pesticide residue analysis of cannabis samples. Their location saves the County on sample transportation costs, and allows analysis results to be received more quickly. |
