Approve two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yolo County Sheriff's Safety Management Association (SMA). |

Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The Yolo County Sheriffs Safety Management Association has reached a two-year tentative agreement with the county. The major changes to the previous MOU are as follows:
- Cost of living salary increase of 2% for 2015-16
- Addition of Undersheriff/Assistant Sheriff classification to bargaining unit
- Increase in shift differential pay to $1.25/hour
- Increase in bilingual pay and change from hourly to monthly rate
- Restructure of educational pay to incentivize bachelor's degree
- Addition of deferred compensation match
The entire revised MOU is attached for your review. Staff requests board approval of the attached MOU. |

The additional cost of the MOU provisions will be absorbed within the department's 15-16 allocation which includes general fund and public safety fund appropriations. $157,357 is the total cost for both years of the agreement. |
