| Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
At the April 6, 2021 Board meeting the Board approved the formation of the Adivsory Redistricting Commission to draft and present supervisorial district maps for the Board’s consideration. Since that time, the County also retained Redistricting Partners to assist with demography, mapping, and outreach associated with the 2021 redistricting process. To date the ARC has met seven times and held its first outreach/community of interest hearing on August 23.
This presentation will provide an overview of the redistricting schedule (Att. A), outreach efforts, preliminary census data (Att. B) (this data does not include the state's adjustment of prisoners which will be included in the final data which is expected on or around September 23), an overview of communities of interest, and solicit community of interest testimony. |
