Recommended Action
  1. Adopt budget resolution transferring funds from the General Services Facilities Division to the Parks Division Budget to purchase various pieces of equipment; and
     
  2. Approve amendment to the 2020-21 authorized equipment list.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Department of General Services is requesting the transfer of funds from the Facilities Division Budget to the Parks Division Budget. This request is to purchase the following equipment: backflow devices, blower, mower, trailer and utility vehicle-gator. The department is also requesting the above items be added to the 2020-21 Authorized Equipment list, along with a sewage pump for Facilities. Funding for sewage pump is already in place in the Facilities budget.

The purchase of these items will increase productivity, efficiency, and continuity of operations at all Yolo County operated Parks and Facilities.

Backflow devices are a mandate by Environmental Health. The Blower is for raking and separating pine needles from pinecones. The mower is to replace aged equipment. The sewage pump is to prevent clogging of solids and stringy material. The trailer will enable the towing of parks tractor and implements. The Utility Vehicle – Gator will be used for faster and more efficient herbicide spraying.

The department will be using savings from the Facilities Budget to finance the purchase.

The attached Budget Resolution request for $47,161 to be transferred from Facilities Division Budget to Parks Division Budget to purchase a  backflow devices, blower, mower, trailer, and utility vehicle-gator, is funded by savings in services and supplies. Funds are available in the Facilities Division Budget to purchase the sewage pump.
