In October of 2018, a request for proposal ("RFP") was advertised for improvement work at the Yolo County Central Library and Archives facility, located at 262 Buckeye Street in Woodland, CA. Four bids were received for this work, with Hometown Construction Inc., successfully earning the contract. The contract issued to Hometown Construction, Inc., is for the dollar amount identified in response to the request for proposal ($536,000) however, the General Services Department is requesting authorization for the Director of General Services to issue amendments to their contract should the scope of work need to be altered. Amendments in excess of an addition $53,600 (10% construction contingency) will be brought to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
A project budget was presented to the BOS on July 24, 2018, with the contract for purchase and installation of mobile compact shelving for this project being approved on September 11, 2018.
In October of 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved the 2017-2019 Capital Improvement Plan, which included necessary renovations and improvements to the Central Library and Archives in order to meet the adequate environmental controls to best preserve the County's archived collection. Design and engineering for the project occurred during the 2017-2018 fiscal year, with major construction scheduled for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. Renovations to the Central Library and Archives Center were conceptually approved by the Board of Supervisors on May 31, 2016, with additional financing requirements being addressed through the Yolo County Public Agencies Financing Authority 2017 Lease Revenue Bond Issuance.
