Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The Yolo County Board of Supervisors previously formed the Yolo County Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) in July 2017. The Tourism Business Improvement District is a 5-year benefit assessment district to fund marketing and public relations and community marketing programs for lodging businesses within unincorporated Yolo County and the cities of Davis, Winters and Woodland. The County and cities collect a 2% assessment and then forward the assessment revenues to Visit Yolo, the hotelier owners association, which provides the marketing and public relations and community marketing programs. The FY 18-19 Visit Yolo budget anticipated the following TBID revenue from each participating jurisdiction:
Jurisdiction |
Amount |
Davis |
$318,812 |
Woodland |
$367,446 |
Winters |
$1,528 |
Unincorporated Yolo |
$137,682 |
Total TBID Revenue |
$825,468 |
The TBID's Management District Plan requires Visit Yolo to provide an annual report to the Board of Supervisors. The FY18-19 annual report is provided as Attachment A to this staff report. |
