Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The Community Services Department and the California State Association of Counties ("CSAC") have requested the Board adopt the attached resolution (Att. A) in support of Proposition 69 and in opposition to a potential SB 1 repeal initiative. Proposition 69 would add additional protections for taxpayers by preventing the State Legislature from diverting or raiding any new transportation revenues for non-transportation improvement purposes. The text of the measure is attached (Att. B). Proposition 69 will go before the voters on the June ballot. The resolution would also affirm the Board's opposition to a potential SB 1 repeal initiative that is currently collecting signatures. Should it qualify it would go before the voters in November. The title and summary and fiscal analysis are attached (Att. C and D, respectfully).
This item was brought to the Legislative Subcommittee for recommendation. Supervisor Rexroad recused himself from this item and all potential ballot measures. |
