Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Security issues at Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) facilities in both Woodland and West Sacramento have prompted both HHSA and Communicare to request the purchase and installation of security cameras to monitor the exteriors of 500 B Jefferson Boulevard in West Sacramento and the Bauer Building in Woodland, both owned and operated by the county.  An increase in staff incidents and concerns in the past year have prompted this request.  The addition of cameras would assist in deterring future security incidents and to have video evidence should an incident occur.

HHSA already has security camera systems at their Winters locations and 500 A. Jefferson Boulevard.  Funding would secure fifteen cameras which would be added to the existing core system through Precision West on an existing GSA contract.
