Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
Amador County must contract with neighboring counties on an as needed basis to house placements of Amador County detained youth due to an inability to ensure adequate housing for their juvenile detention population. By providing beds to Amador County, the Yolo County Juvenile Detention Facility (JDF) and the Probation Department are able to offset some of the cost of operating the JDF during the fiscal year. No Amador County youth have been placed during the FY 2017-18 and historically the agreement with Yolo County is used sparingly. The agreement charges Amador a per day rate per youth of $120. The agreement has provisions to be extended four (4) additional fiscal years after this first term. |
