Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Since December 2020 the Yolo County Innovation and Technology Services Department (ITSD) has worked in partnership with the County Administrator's Office to develop an online dashboard for the 2020-2025 Yolo County Strategic Plan titled "Yolo Performs". The purpose of the online dashboard is to track Strategic Plan progress in a transparent format and increase public awareness and interaction with the plan.

The dashboard will be publicly available online and will display the Strategic Plan goals, track outcome progress using established metrics, and detail specific strategies. Data for the dashboard metrics will be gathered internally from staff using a shared document  that will then be uploaded into the dashboard by ITSD. This update will occur quarterly, but the frequency by which a metric's data is updated will depend on how frequently its data is available. For example, some metrics rely on data that is only available annually or biennially.

ITSD has completed the development of the dashboard and is in the process of finalizing the design. Staff plan to make the dashboard publicly available in mid-to-late April.

The Board approved the development of the dashboard on December 15, 2020 at the one-time cost of up to $56,000 paid by the County Administrator's Office. On-going costs are estimated to be minimal and would be billed to the County Administrator's Office on an as-needed basis as part of the department's regular technology services expenses.
