Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On June 26, 2018, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 18-148 which provided YoloArts a license to occupy and operate the Gibson House property, located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland, as a cultural center. On November 20, 2018 the Board approved an amendment to this agreement to grant YoloArts a five year license to occupy an adjacent property, located at 508 Gibson Road, as administration space for operation of the Gibson House. On May 21, 2019, the Board approved a second amendment to reflect the County’s previously approved contribution of $200,000 towards capital improvements at the property, which was not originally noted in the agreement, in order to assist in financial processing of the construction costs.
Under the agreement, $270,500 was placed in a Reserve Fund for YoloArts to utilize at the Gibson property and adjacent premises for tenant and/or capital improvements. These funds were separate from the $200,000 County contribution, which were solely for capital improvements. On June 30, 2021, any funds remaining in the Reserve Fund will be placed into a special capital improvement fund for use by the County for capital improvements or large repairs at the Gibson property. As of March 17, 2021, $31,234.40 remains in the Reserve Fund.
Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic in Yolo County resulted in facility and activity closures that delayed YoloArts from conducting additional tenant and/or capital improvements at the Gibson property and adjacent premises. For that reason, this third amendment will extend YoloArts' use of the Reserve Funds for one additional year through June 30, 2022, for tenant and/or capital improvements. |
